This includes outdoor fires, bonfires, fires contained within fire pits, burn barrels, controlled burns, and the burning of any materialsβno exceptions. These restrictions are in place to protect communities and prevent potentially devastating wildfires. Under current conditions, even a small flame can quickly escalate into a major emergency. Please follow all guidelines and do your part to keep everyone safe. Your cooperation is essential.

Please be advised that the Council of the Rural Municipality of Elton has officially lifted the burning ban, effective immediately as of 9:00 a.m. on May 15, 2025.
If you intend to conduct an open-air burn, you are still required to notify the Municipal Office. You may do so by calling 204-728-7834 (press option 8) or by emailing fire@elton.ca with the following details:
